Terraria’s modding community continues to grow and expand to having more and more awesome mods that completely change the way the game is played. There are mods that are very popular that Terraria players can’t go back to just playing vanilla Terraria because of how much they are used to the gameplay of the mod. One such mod is called Calamity, which completely reinvents the way you play Terraria, as you can choose different classes and such. In this guide, we will be focusing on the Rogue class.

Pre Boss

To efficiently play through the game as a Rogue in the beginning of the game, just before the first boss, you will need to have enough resources and a couple of houses. You will also need to increase your maximum health.

Here is also the gear you will need if you want to have the best chance in defeating the first boss.

  • Snow Ruffian Armor – 4 defense, 5% increased rogue damage
  • Crystalline weapon – Splits into several projectiles as it travels (17 damage)
  • Wulfrum Knife weapon – Stealth strikes make the knife fly further and hit several times at once (9 damage)
  • Coin of Deceit – Stealth Strikes only expend 75% of your max stealth. 6% increase Rogue crit chance
  • Scuttler’s Jewel – Stealth strike projectiles spawn a jewel spike when destroyed
  • Raider’s Talisman – Whenever you crit an enemy with a rogue weapon, your rogue damage increases. This effect can stack up to 150 times
  • Hermes Boots – Makes the wearer go super fast
  • Cloud in a Bottle – Allow to double jump

Pre Perforator

Before Perforator, you should have killed some bosses already, including Brain of Cthulhu or Eater of Worlds. For the trip to the Underworld, make sure you have these gear:

  • Sulphurous Armor – 16 defense, 12% increased rogue damage, 7% increased rogue critical strike chance
  • Ashen Stalactite – Throws a fast, small stalactite that crumbles to dust after traveling a short distance (37 damage)
  • Meteor Fist – Fires a fist that explodes (15 damage)
  • Coin of Deceit – Stealth Strikes only expend 75% of your max stealth. 6% increase Rogue crit chance
  • Shield of Cthulhu – Allows you to dash
  • Raider’s Talisman – Whenever you crit an enemy with a rogue weapon, your rogue damage increases. This effect can stack up to 150 times
  • Lightning Boots – The wearer can run super fast
  • Cloud in a Balloon – Allows you to double jump and jump higher

Pre Skeletron

If you have reached this point, it is assumed that you have killed the Perforator and have mined enough Aerialite to craft new and better gear for the fight against Mr. Bones.

  • Sulphurous Armor – 16 defense, 12% increased rogue damage, 7% increased rogue critical strike chance
  • Feather Knife – Throws a knife which summons homing feathers (16 damage)
  • Turbulance – Fires a cloudy javelin that bursts into wind slashes on hit. Wind slashes home in on the enemy if the javelin crits (18 damage)
  • Coin of Deceit – Stealth Strikes only expend 75% of your max stealth. 6% increase Rogue crit chance
  • Shield of Cthulhu – Allows you to dash
  • Raider’s Talisman – Whenever you crit an enemy with a rogue weapon, your rogue damage increases. This effect can stack up to 150 times
  • Lightning Boots – The wearer can run super fast
  • Bundle of Balloon – Allows you to quadruple jump

Pre Wall of Flesh

At this point, you should have the Abyss with a Shadow key so you can haul everything you have out.

  • Sulphurous Armor – 16 defense, 12% increased rogue damage, 7% increased rogue critical strike chance
  • Tracking Disk – Releases a flying disk that fires lasers at nearby enemies (16 damage)
  • Enchanted Axe – Throws a high velocity axe that returns to you after traveling a short distance or hitting a wall (20 damage)
  • Bloodstained Gloves – Stealth strikes have a +8 armor penetration and heal for 2 HP
  • Shield of Cthulhu – Allows you to dash
  • Raider’s Talisman – Whenever you crit an enemy with a rogue weapon, your rogue damage increases. This effect can stack up to 150 times
  • Terraspark Boots – Allows flight, super fast running, and extra mobility on ice
  • Skyline Wings – Allow you to fly and glide

Pre Mechanical Bosses (1 and 3)

When entering Hard mode, you will gain access to a wide variety of equipment for all of the classes, including the Rogue class. At this point, you can now harvest Life Fruits to help better prepare yourself against the two Mechanical Bosses that we will focus on. Reason why is that the rest are easy to fight, but these two are harder compared to their other mechanical siblings.

This is the gear you will need for the first Mechanical boss:

  • Titan Heart Armor – 43 defense, 24% increased rogue damage, 10% increased rogue velocity, 35% increased rogue knockback, 15% decreased rogue firing rate, 45% increased chance to not consume rogue items
  • Cobalt Kunai – Stealth strikes fire three homing cobalt energy bolts (50 damage)
  • Equanimity – Throws a dark or light boomerang that confuses enemies (40 damage)
  • Bloodstained Gloves – Stealth strikes have a +8 armor penetration and heal for 2 HP
  • Rogue Emblem – 15% increased rogue damage
  • Mirage Mirror – Stealth generates 25% faster when standing still and 12% faster when moving
  • Terraspark Boots – Allows flight, super fast running, and extra mobility on ice
  • Shield of Cthulhu – Allows you to dash
  • Fairy Wings – Allows you to fly and glide

After defeating the first and second boss, you will unlock the ability to mine Adamantite and Titanium. Mine those first before anything else.

This is the gear you will need for the third Mechanical boss:

  • Titan Heart Armor – 43 defense, 24% increased rogue damage, 10% increased rogue velocity, 35% increased rogue knockback, 15% decreased rogue firing rate, 45% increased chance to not consume rogue items
  • Orichalcum Spiked Gemstone – Stealth strikes last longer and summon petals on enemy hits (37 damage)
  • Equanimity – Throws a dark or light boomerang that confuses enemies (40 damage)
  • Bloodstained Gloves – Stealth strikes have a +8 armor penetration and heal for 2 HP
  • Rogue Emblem – 15% increased rogue damage
  • Mirage Mirror – Stealth generates 25% faster when standing still and 12% faster when moving
  • Terraspark Boots – Allows flight, super fast running, and extra mobility on ice
  • Shield of Cthulhu – Allows you to dash
  • Fairy Wings – Allows you to fly and glide

Pre Plantera

Once you have dealt with all of the Mechanical bosses, you can now access the Hallowed Bars and Cryonic Bars. This will give you more powerful equipment.

  • Daedalus Armor – 41 defense, 13% increased rogue damage and 7% increased rogue critical strike chance, increases rogue velocity by 15%, 5% increased movement speed
  • Spear of Destiny – Throws three spears with the outer two having homing capabilities (26 damage)
  • Skyfin Bombers – Launches a skyfin nuke that homes in on enemies below it (46 damage)
  • Electrician’s Glove – Stealth strikes summon sparks on enemy hits
  • Corrosive Spine – 5% increased movement speed. All rogue weapons inflict poison and spawn clouds on enemy hits
  • Ruin Medallion – Stealth strikes only expend 75% of your max stealth
  • Angel Treads – Allows flight, super fast running, and extra mobility on ice and gives the effects of previous boots
  • Bat Wings – Allow you to fly and glide
  • Ornate Shield – Grants a front dash

Pre Golem

After defeating Plantera, you can now make use of the Prennial Ore and Ectoplasm that will be available to you. You should also be able to access Hardmode Abyss weapons and Great Sand Shark weapons as well.

  • Umbraphile Armor – 36 defense, rogue weapons have a chance to create explosions on hit, 27% increased rogue damage, 16% increased rogue critical strike chance, 10% increased rogue projectile velocity, 30% increased movement speed
  • Duststorm in a Bottle – Explodes into a dust cloud (47 damage)
  • Fantasy Talisman – Fires high velocity talismans that ignore gravity (93 damage)
  • Glove of Recklessness – Increases rogue attack speed by 15% but decreases damage by 12%, 15% increased stealth regeneration
  • Vampiric Talisman – Rogue projectiles give lifesteal on crits, 12% increased rogue damage
  • Ruin Medallion – Stealth strikes only expend 75% of your max stealth
  • Angel Treads – Allows flight, super fast running, and extra mobility on ice and gives the effects of previous boots
  • Mothron Wings – Allow you to fly and glide
  • Asgard’s Valor – Grants immunity to knockback, immune to most debuffs, +16 defense while submerged in liquid, +20 max life, +16 defense

Pre Lunatic Cultist

Once you have defeated Golem, you can now access the Scoria Ore. However, Plague enemies will be spawning in the Jungle, so watch out for them.

  • Hydrothermic Armor – 40 defense, 12% increased rogue damage, 10% increased rogue critical strike chance, 50% chance to not consume rogue items, temporary immunity to lava and immunity to fire damage
  • Malachite – Throws a stream of kunai that stick to enemies and explode (55 damage)
  • Subduction Slicer – Throws a scythe that explodes on enemy hits (90 damage)
  • Glove of Recklessness – Increases rogue attack speed by 15% but decreases damage by 12%, 15% increased stealth regeneration
  • Vampiric Talisman – Rogue projectiles give lifesteal on crits, 12% increased rogue damage
  • Ethereal Extorter – Rogue projectiles explode into homing souls on death, 10% increased rogue damage and +10 maximum health
  • Angel Treads – Allows flight, super fast running, and extra mobility on ice and gives the effects of previous boots
  • Fishron Wings – Allow you to fly and glide
  • Asgard’s Valor – Grants immunity to knockback, immune to most debuffs, +16 defense while submerged in liquid, +20 max life, +16 defense

Pre Moon Lord

When you prepare to fight the Moon Lord, you should have items that are crafted from Meld Constructs, Lunar Fragments, and Astral Bars. Don’t forget to have accessories as well.

  • Hydrothermic Armor – 40 defense, 12% increased rogue damage, 10% increased rogue critical strike chance, 50% chance to not consume rogue items, temporary immunity to lava and immunity to fire damage
  • Malachite – Throws a stream of kunai that stick to enemies and explode (55 damage)
  • Shard of Antumbra – Stealth strikes leave homing stars in their wake (280 damage)
  • Glove of Recklessness – Increases rogue attack speed by 15% but decreases damage by 12%, 15% increased stealth regeneration
  • Vampiric Talisman – Rogue projectiles give lifesteal on crits, 12% increased rogue damage
  • Ethereal Extorter – Rogue projectiles explode into homing souls on death, 10% increased rogue damage and +10 maximum health
  • Angel Treads – Allows flight, super fast running, and extra mobility on ice and gives the effects of previous boots
  • Fishron Wings – Allow you to fly and glide
  • Asgard’s Valor – Grants immunity to knockback, immune to most debuffs, +16 defense while submerged in liquid, +20 max life, +16 defense

Pre Providence

After defeating the Moon Lord, you can now craft items using Luminite Bars and Galactica Singularities.

  • Empyrean Armor – 71 defense, 32% increased rogue damage, 23% increased rogue critical strike chance, 9% increased rogue velocity, 26% increased movement speed, +20 max life
  • Lunar Kunai – Throws out a set of three kunai that ignores gravity and slightly homes in on enemies (120 damage)
  • Elemental Disk – Throws a disk that has a chance to generate several disks if enemies are near it (100 damage)
  • Blunder Booster – 12% increased rogue damage and 15% increased rogue projectile velocity, stealth generates 10% faster
  • Vampiric Talisman – Rogue projectiles give lifesteal on crits, 12% increased rogue damage
  • Ethereal Extorter – Rogue projectiles explode into homing souls on death, 10% increased rogue damage and +10 maximum health
  • Seraph Tracers – Count as wings, combine the effect of the previous boots
  • Dark God’s Sheath – +10 maximum stealth, mobile stealth generation accelerates while not attacking, stealth strikes only expend 50% of your max health
  • Asgard’s Valor – Grants immunity to knockback, immune to most debuffs, +16 defense while submerged in liquid, +20 max life, +16 defense
  • Moonstone Crown – 15% increased rogue projectile velocity. Stealth strikes summon lunar flares on enemy hits

Pre Polterghast

Moving past Providence, you should be able to now use Uelibloom ore and Bloodstone. You can then make the Tarragon Armor with these and other powerful weapons.

  • Tarragon Armor – 84 defense, temporary immunity to lava, can move freely through liquids, 10% increased rogue damage and critical strike chance, 5% increased damage reduction
  • Wave Pounder – It utilizes its power to send heavy shockwaves (75 damage)
  • Shattered Sun – Throws daggers that split into scorching homing daggers (80 damage)
  • Blunder Booster – 12% increased rogue damage and 15% increased rogue projectile velocity, stealth generates 10% faster
  • Vampiric Talisman – Rogue projectiles give lifesteal on crits, 12% increased rogue damage
  • Ethereal Extorter – Rogue projectiles explode into homing souls on death, 10% increased rogue damage and +10 maximum health
  • Seraph Tracers – Count as wings, combine the effect of the previous boots
  • Dark God’s Sheath – +10 maximum stealth, mobile stealth generation accelerates while not attacking, stealth strikes only expend 50% of your max health
  • Elyisian Aegis – Grants immunity to knockback, and the Burning, On Fire! And Holy Flames debuffs, +30 max life, grants a supreme holy flame dash, +18 defense

Pre Devourer of Gods

Once you have defeated the Polterghast, The Old Duke, and other mini-bosses in the Abyss, powerful new weapons are available to you for use.

  • Bloodflare Armor – 92 defense, you can move freely through liquids and have temporary immunity to lava, 10% increased rogue damage and critical strike chance
  • Ghoulish Gouger – Throws sets of four ghoulish scythes at ultra high velocity (166 damage)
  • Deep Sea Dumbell – Throws a dumbbell that bounces and flings weights with each bounce (466 damage)
  • Blunder Booster – 12% increased rogue damage and 15% increased rogue projectile velocity, stealth generates 10% faster
  • Vampiric Talisman – Rogue projectiles give lifesteal on crits, 12% increased rogue damage
  • Ethereal Extorter – Rogue projectiles explode into homing souls on death, 10% increased rogue damage and +10 maximum health
  • Seraph Tracers – Count as wings, combine the effect of the previous boots
  • Dark God’s Sheath – +10 maximum stealth, mobile stealth generation accelerates while not attacking, stealth strikes only expend 50% of your max health

Once you have slain the Devourer of Gods, seasonal events will drop Nightmare Fuel and Endothermic Energy.

Pre Exo Mechs

Once you have defeater Yharon, Auric Ore will start appearing underground, allowing you to craft more powerful gear.

  • Auric Tesla Armor – 126 defense, 20% increased rogue damage and critical strike chance, 25% increased movement speed, not moving boosts all damage and critical strike chance
  • Wrathwing – Throws an agile, homing winged spear that constantly spits fire (592 damage)
  • Seared Pan – Fires a frying pan at high velocity. Enemy hits summon fireball that linger around the target (2222 damage)
  • Nanotech – Rogue projectiles create nanoblades as they travel, stealth strikes summon nanobeams and sparks on enemy hits
  • Rampart of Deities – Causes stars to fall and gives increased immune time when damage, provides life regeneration and reduces the cooldown of healing potions
  • Ethereal Extorter – Rogue projectiles explode into homing souls on death, 10% increased rogue damage and +10 maximum health
  • Celestial Tracers – Counts as wings, combine the effect of every boots in the game
  • Dragon Scales – Rogue projectiles create slow fireballs as they travel
  • Asgardian Aegis – Combine the effect of every shield in the game
  • Eclipse Mirror – Its reflection shows naught but darkness, +10 maximum stealth, 6% increased rogue damage, and 6% increased rogue crit chance

Endgame

You have officially reached the endgame of the Calamity mod. At this point, everything should be accessible to you, including most developer items. You will, however, need Ashes of Annihilation, which you get from Supreme Calamitas.

  • Demonshade Armor – 150 defense, 45% increased damage, 30% increased critical strike chance
  • Nanoblack Reaper – Unleashes a storm of nanoblack energy blades (130 damage)
  • Scarlet Devil – Throws an ultra high velocity spear, which creates more projectiles that home in. The spear creates a Scarlet Blast upon hitting an enemy (10000 damage)
  • Nanotech – Rogue projectiles create nanoblades as they travel, stealth strikes summon nanobeams and sparks on enemy hits
  • Rampart of Deities – Causes stars to fall and gives increased immune time when damage, provides life regeneration and reduces the cooldown of healing potions
  • Shattered Community – Allows you to use Rage without being in Revengeance mode
  • Celestial Tracers – Counts as wings, combine the effect of every boots in the game
  • Dragon Scales – Rogue projectiles create slow fireballs as they travel
  • Asgardian Aegis – Combine the effect of every shield in the game
  • Eclipse Mirror – Its reflection shows naught but darkness, +10 maximum stealth, 6% increased rogue damage, and 6% increased rogue crit chance
