Chest Reward: Unknown Visitor Armor

This Vault is located along the South coast of War's Den, South-West of the main building in Ajax's Fort. It's also guarded by some formidible monsters.

This Vault’s chest requires Ares’s Rage in order to get to. Phosphor’s Clone is also helpful, but not at all required.

Checkpoint 1

This vault is all about getting small wooden boxes through laser obstacles so you can weight down Pressure Plates to reveal the way forward. To start, hit the switch to spawn in a box. Walk up to it and push it under the first three lasers. After it is a floor-sweeping laser that’s blocked by short walls on either end of its path. Push or carry the box past it, then jump across the gap and use Herakles’s Strength to retrieve the box.

Next is a very tricky setpiece: a series of lasers on the floor too deep to jump through (getting hit by lasers will cause you to drop the box in the lasers). Look at the floor and note the gold diamond pattern. Set the box down three diamonds away from the lasers, then jump across. On your right is a slightly raised section: stand on it, then wait for the first laser to rise up. When it’s at its highest, pull the box to you with Herakles’s Strength! Well done!

Particularly crafty players can use a faster method: jumping along the top of the laser’s emitter cubes on the left-hand side!

Place the box onto the Pressure Plate to open the way forward to the next Checkpoint.

Checkpoint 2

This next obstacle is about moving the box across a wide open area and keeping it protected from the sweeping laser wall. Hit the switch to spawn in the box below.

The intent here is for you to carefully push the box from cover to cover, but a much faster way to cover ground is to pick up the box and sprint like you’re Batman trying to get rid of a bomb. To get the box across the first gap, place it on the right-hand side of the low wall, then jump across the gap and hide behind the tall wall in the middle. Use Herakles’s Strength to pull the box across the gap and then quickly set it down before the laser wall destroys it.

This trick can’t be repeated at the second gap for some reason: you’ll have to place the box out in the open, then quickly jump across the gap, turn around and pull it to you before the laser wall gets it first.

Checkpoint 3

For the final leg you’ll be faced with a fast-moving sweeping wall on the side blocked by obstacles on the side. Hit the switch to summon a box, then push it until it’s just blocked by the wall on the left. Jump across the gap, then pull the box to you when it’s safe to do so. Carefully carry it across to the end and then set it down onto the Pressure Plate to raise some platforms up to the final section.

Here however is where you can start on this Vault’s chest! At the top, turn to face the previous area and spot the Metal box at the top of the high wall near the last Pressure Plate. Use the switch at your position to summon a box, then use it to Double Jump and Glide to wall. When you touch it, use Ares’s Wrath to get up on top and push the Metal Box down to the Pressure Plate.

At the lower area, look for the Heavy Pressure Plate behind a low wall nearby and put the Metal Box onto it. Now you have options: if you have Phosphor’s Clone you can simply make one to add the extra weight. If you don’t have this power, you’ll need to put both wooden boxes on the plate.

Do that, and you can jump through the doorway and reach the Chest with Unknown Visitor Armor! With that done, put the Metal Box on the light Pressure Plate to return to the upper area.

In the final upper area, you can actually simply pick up the box with Herakles’s Strength and then set it down behind one of the walls or columns on the left-hand side when you feel the laser wall is about to pop up. Get it to the other side, then put it on the Pressure Plate to raise the way up to Zeus’ Lightning!
